Launch of the Brazilian Soil Health Partnership aims to expand knowledge related to soil health in Brazil.

The Brazilian Soil Health Partnership (BSHP) is a collaborative network that brings together researchers and public and private institutions, fostering connections among scientists, farmers, stakeholders from the agricultural sector, and society as a whole, with the goal of promoting soil health as the foundation for a more sustainable and resilient agriculture.

The initiative seeks to integrate science, agricultural practices, and public policies, strengthening the dialogue between those who generate knowledge and those who apply it in the field. Through this network-based approach, the BSHP contributes to the dissemination of regenerative practices, the improvement of soil management, and the recognition of the role of ecosystems in maintaining productivity and biodiversity.

As part of its communication and integration initiatives, the Brazilian Soil Health Partnership (BSHP) has just launched the first edition of the Soil Health News Newsletter, a digital publication that connects scientific discoveries, field experiences, and discussions on policies and innovations related to soil health, keeping farmers, technicians, and students informed about the knowledge being generated in academia.

Organized by Maurício Roberto Cherubin, with texts written by Victório Santos Souza, Carlos Roberto Pinheiro Junior, Maria Eduarda Santana S. Fonseca, and Eloisa Honorato Rocha, and reviewed by Leidivan Almeida Frazão and Felipe Bonini da Luz, the publication aims to make technical knowledge more accessible and applicable, facilitating exchange among different sectors and promoting a systemic view of agricultural sustainability.

In this edition, themed “Living Soil,” the inaugural issue presents research results conducted in the Cerrado and,

the Caatinga, highlighting the role of integrated systems with legumes and the soil microbiome in restoring soil health. It also features insights from researcher Ieda de Carvalho Mendes, who emphasizes the importance of soil bioanalysis (BioAS) as a practical management tool, as well as news and awards received by BSHP members, in addition to national and international events related to soil health.

The newsletter reinforces the central purpose of the Brazilian Soil Health Partnership of demonstrating that soil health is the link between biodiversity, agricultural productivity, and sustainability. By valuing both scientific discoveries and field experiences, Soil Health News aims to inspire actions that promote regenerative agriculture and strengthen the resilience of ecosystems and rural communities.

In this way, the newsletter reinforces the core mission of the BSHP: transforming knowledge into action to restore, conserve, and enhance Brazilian soils.
