One of the main objectives of the "Research" pillar of the Brazilian Soil Health Partnership is to identify a set of best management practices that result in improvements in the physical, chemical, and biological attributes of the soil, promoting the improvement/recovery of soil health (driving practices) in different agricultural production systems (annual and perennial crops, pastures, integrated systems, etc.).

For this purpose, a scientific collaboration network was established involving 50 researchers from universities and other institutions across 15 Brazilian states to conduct studies on the impact of different soil health management practices, using standardized sampling and analysis protocols. This methodological standardization will allow for more reliable correlations to be obtained regarding the results of adopting agricultural practices under the diverse edaphoclimatic conditions of agricultural production in Brazil. In addition, it will be possible to establish a minimum dataset adapted to Brazilian conditions to enable the scalability of sampling and evaluations.
